Arlene Maye Thompson, born May 1, 1942 passed away on November 14, 2018.
She was born in Connellsville, Pa. Arlene worked full time up until the age of 72. She was a strong and independent woman, an accomplished seamstress, she also excelled in ceramics and crafting. Arlene also had a knack for decorating. She was often seen carrying her camcorder capturing precious family memories.
Arlene’s work ethic was impeccable, she never asked anyone for anything, but gave all. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother. She loved her family more than anything. Arlene was known for some catchy slogans, Love you more! Same shit different day! if you don’t come, you don’t have to leave! And of course, the infamous DFM! Favorite color was yellow, favorite donut was glazed.
Arlene’s two favorite holidays were Christmas and Fourth of July. Christmas was for happiness and grandchildren. The kids would wait with anticipation for gram, she always out did Santa!
July 4th every year she went to what we call “Home” to visit her sister. She loved spending that time with her. It soothed her soul. Arlene enjoyed outings, coffee, tea, and Coors Light with her sisters-in-law and girlfriends.
Arlene is survived by her son Bernard Thompson (Roz), Edward Thompson (Mary), and daughter Kandi Howard (the late James). She is also survived by 7 amazing grandchildren and 7 beautiful great-grandchildren. Loving cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends. She will be missed dearly. Arlene is preceded in death by her mother Daisy, brother Bernie, twin sister Darlene, son Scott Sr., grandson Scott Jr., son-in-law Jimmy, daughter in law Ginny, and her beloved dog Pebbles.

The family would like to acknowledge the staff at Bayada Hospice for their care, compassion, and professionalism during her time of need. The family is asking for donations to be made to Bayada Hospice 2370 York Road Jamison Pa 18929
