Obituary for Abe Barber

Abe “Jake” Barber, of Bensalem, passed away on February 23rd. He was 88 years old. Jake was a proud veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Drexel Industries as a forklift assembler for over 25 years. In his free time, Jake enjoyed spending time with his family, he was very active in the Hatboro Community Church, and he enjoyed watching all of the Philadelphia sports teams, especially the Flyers. Jake also loved to grow tomatoes and to take care of all of his children’s animals, most of which were named Jake. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Shirley (nee Reese), his children: Marjorie Miller (the late Jace), James Thomas Barber, and Jeffery Francis Barber, his grandchildren: Jenn Camp (Jeff), Jace Miller, Ashley Barber, and Victoria Barber, and his great granddaughter, Audrey Camp. He is also survived by his siblings: Joanne, Jackie, and Katherine. He was preceded in death by his siblings: Donald, William, and Bertha. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Monday, March 1st form 2:00-3:00 PM followed by his service at 3:00 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020. Interment will take place at a later date.
