Barry Gene Midkiff, Sr., age 87, of Croydon, PA died Thursday, April 22, 2021 at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol, PA after a brief illness with Covid. He was born in Springton, WV to the late Agile and Verlie (McComas) Midkiff. He left WV in the early 1950s for better opportunities and would settle in Bucks County, where he joined the Croydon Fire Company. He was a past Captain, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Lifetime Member and Volunteer Fireman for 65 + years. He was employed at ACME Hamilton, AE Staley Manufacturer, and retired from Congoleum Corporation as a Mechanic. He loved working on family and friends vehicles in his garage that he proudly built. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and bowled with the seniors at the Penndel Bowling Center. He loved traveling “back home” to visit with his very large extended family. He also loved camping for many years with family and very close friends. Gene also enjoyed dancing with his wife at many banquets, weddings and events. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Margaret (Tshudy) Midkiff, his daughter Kelly J. (Michael) Cecconi; son Barry G. (Katherine) Midkiff, Jr; Granddaughters Valerie (Joshua) Jacoboski; Vanessa Cecconi; and Angela Cecconi; his brother Randolph (late Barbara) Midkiff of Va. and sister Deanna (late David), Arthur of WV; Niece Vickie (Richard) Arnold, nephews Jeffrey (Melissa) Midkiff, late Bruce Midkiff, Terry Akers and many, many cousins. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing, Sunday eve from 6 to 8 PM at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, P.C., 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020, and again Monday from 10 to 11 AM, followed by his service at 11 AM. Interment Sunset Memorial Park.
