Obituary for Charles Donahue

Charles Donahue, Chalie to family and friends, passed away peacefully on April 16 surrounded by his loving wife and children. Born in Philadelphia on April 27, 1941, he resided there until moving his family to Bensalem.

Charles has been enjoying retired life with his wife for the last 23 years. Prior to his retirement he worked as a truck driver for Consolidated Freight. A proud member of Teamster Local 107.

In his free time, he enjoyed visiting the Borgata, selling at the flea market with many special friends, and tinkering in his garage ("if Grandpop couldn’t fix it, it couldn’t be fixed”). Charles spent many hours building and fixing anything his grandchildren brought to him.

He will be deeply missed by his devoted wife of 59 years, Rita (nee Sammon), his loving children Rita Zeidler (Daniel Zeidler), Terri Donahue McCullough and Chuck Donahue (Melissa Parker). He was most proud of his 6 grandchildren: Danny, RJ, Charles, Megan, Mike and Luke. Chalie looked forward to time spent with his children and grandchild.

Charles was preceded in death by his siblings Bill, George, Johnny, William, Estelle and Rosie. He was survived by Betty, Margie and AnnaMae.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing at St Ephrem Church at 5400 Hulmeville Road, Bensalem, PA on Thursday, April 21 from 10:00-11:00a.m. followed by his Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be private.
