Clair M. (McGovern) Barkmeyer passed away Saturday, May 20, 2023, at her residence. She was 72 years old. Born in Philadelphia to the late Robert and Isabella Clair (Sweeney) McGovern and was a resident of Bensalem for the last 47 years. Clair was a graduate of Temple University, earning a B.S in Accounting and worked as a Quality Control Analyst for the Defense Personnel Support Center. She was an avid reader. Clair also enjoyed cooking, following Villanova sports, and loved spending time with her family. She will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 50 years, Thomas A. Barkmeyer. Clair is also survived by her two sons, Gregory Barkmeyer (Jennifer) and Douglas Barkmeyer; her granddaughter, Jordan Hrynkow; her sister, Mary Archer (Robert); and her best friend Frances. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Robert McGovern Jr., and Joan Weigel. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation, Wednesday, May 31, 2023, from 10 to 11 AM at St. Ephrem Church, 5400 Hulmeville Rd., Bensalem, PA 19020, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM.
