Obituary for Mark Anthony Pizzo

Mark Anthony Pizzo, (‘Schultzie’), of Palm Coast, Florida passed away unexpectedly at UF Health in Jacksonville Florida on Tuesday February 7, 2023. He was 55 years young. Born in Philadelphia Pennsylvania on August 2nd, 1967, Mark was the youngest of four children of Harold ‘Zeke’ and Margaret Pizzo. He was a lifelong community member of Bucks County Pennsylvania before retiring to Palm Coast, Florida in 2020.

Mark leaves behind a trail of broken hearts, including his wife Jennifer (nee Mann), his adoring mother Margaret Pizzo (Booth) of Bensalem, his devoted and loyal siblings, Peggy Pizzo-Karpinksi (Joseph), of Bensalem Pa , Maria Morano (Christopher) of Upper Holland Pa and Michael Pizzo (Michele), of Harleysville Pa.; adoring sister-in law Kathleen Phillips (Bob) of East Palatka FL, loyal brother in law William Mann (Debra), of East Patalka FL as well as many nieces and nephews; Douglas Harts, Michael Pizzo Jr, Morgan Pizzo Lyons (Brendan), Matthew Pizzo , Christopher Morano, Marisa Morano, Madelyn Harts, Jennifer Dietz, Jessica Phillips, Zoie Phillips and William Mann V. Mark is also survived by many cousins, aunts and uncles. Mark is predeceased by his father, Harold ‘Zeke’ Pizzo, (Mark’s hero) and his uncle Joe ‘Bibber’ Pizzo.

An avid sports enthusiast, Mark excelled in anything athletic. Growing up in Bensalem, Mark attended Bishop Egan High School, where he was a dominating two sport athlete breaking records and earning numerous awards in both football and wrestling.

Mark’s exceptional athletic talents caught the eye of several Division 1 colleges. He accepted a full athletic football scholarship to the University of Maryland. In 2017 Mark was inducted into the Conwell Egan Catholic Hall of Fame for both football and wrestling.

After college Mark worked for the Bucks County Water and Sewer Authority, where he worked for over 30 years, retiring as the Director of Operations in 2019. His work ethic was impeccable. Mark’s coworkers were truly family to him.

Everyone who knew Mark described him as a ‘gentle giant’. Mark’s love of family, friends and life were unmeasurable. Many people had the pleasure of knowing Mark and all deeply appreciated his friendship, love, kindness and generous heart. Mark had a kind soul. Mark was a man you could count on. He always put others first, a beautiful trait he inherited from his mother.

At the end, the love you take equals the love you make. Mark’s heart was full.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020 on Wednesday February 15, 2023 between 1:30 and 3:00 PM followed by
a celebration of life memorial service at 3:00pm. Interment will be private.
