Mary Catherine McGovern of Croydon passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2022, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. She was 74 years old. Born in Philadelphia to the late Francis J., Sr. and Mary E. (McAllister) McGovern. Mary was a resident of Croydon for the last 47 years. She worked as waitress/bartender for over 45 years at many local hotel bars and lounges throughout her career and most recently with the Leary’s/Patrick’s Pub. Mary was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #1597 Joseph A Schumacher and the St. Thomas Aquinas Divorced Club. Mary also served her community as a school bus aide for Bristol Twp. School District for many years. She will be sadly missed by her 3 loving children: John M., Gregory F. (Kandi) and Jeremy J. Romer (Deanna). She is also survived by her siblings: Francis (Elizabeth) and Joseph McGovern (Melissa); 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Rev. Harry F. McGovern, OSFS. Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation, Saturday March 19, 2022, from 9 to 10 AM at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 601 Bristol Pike, Croydon, PA 19021, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM.
