Obituary

Patricia Cherry (Byrd), age 68 died January 31, 2021 at Atlantic City Regional Medical Center from pneumonia due to COVID-19. Patti was born on August 14, 1952 to the late Richard D. Byrd and Winifred Byrd (Burney).
She was the beloved wife of the late Joseph M. Cherry Sr. and she will be sadly missed by her children; Joseph Cherry Jr. of Egg Harbor City, and Rachel DiAngelo (husband Drew) of Houston, TX and her three granddaughters Julia, Alyssa, and Isabella. She is also survived by her sisters; Constance Whalen (husband Michael), Donna DiEgidio (late husband Blaze), Deborah Janiszewski (late husband John), and Jacqueline Wilcox (husband Wayne). Patti was also aunt to several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Patti is predeceased by her brothers Ronnie and Richard.
Patti graduated from Archbishop Ryan High School class of 1969. Patti lived with type 1 diabetes from the age of 10 and suffered from diabetes-related dementia in the final years of her life.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend her funeral Monday February 8, 2021, 10:00 am at the Tomlinson Funeral Home, 2207 Bristol Pike, Bensalem, PA 19020 followed by her service at 11:00 am. Interment at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Patti’s name to either the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) (jdrf.org) or the American Diabetes Association (ADA) (diabetes.org).
